Lorcan Tucker hit his maiden Test hundred to help visitors Ireland take a 131-run lead on the third day of their one-off Test against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday.

With Tucker making 108 and an unbeaten 71 and 56 coming from Andy McBrine and Harry Tector, the visitors posted 286-8 in the second innings.

Taijul Islam scalped four wickets while Shakib Al Hasan claimed two wickets for Bangladesh.

The Irish managed 214 all out while Bangladesh racked up 369 in their first innings, respectively.

Ireland resumed the third day on 27-4, with overnight batsmen Harry Tector and Peter Moor unbeaten on 8 and 10 runs respectively.

The duo continued until the day’s first one hour adding 38 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Moor gave a catch behind the stumps for 16 by Shofriful.

Meanwhile, Tector survived a catch drop on nine runs by Liton in the day’s second over.

Then Tector and Tucker passed the remaining hours of the session without any trouble forming a 42-ball stand.

However, the duo lost their way in the post lunch hour after Taijul trapped Tector leg before wicket.

Then riding on Tucker and McBrine’s bat, the visitors spent the day’s second spell comfortably.

Tucker bagged his first hundred in red-ball cricket before he fell to Ebadot that lessened them to 234-7.

Then Taijul struck removed Mark Adair for 13.
